I'm afraid that as soon as I read the rules for this, I was already hooked on this challenge. I tried to resist, but it just wasn't happening. I couldn't convince myself that a mere one day of sim time per day wasn't something I could carve out time for. So… here we go again! This challenge is all about playing one sim - for a full REAL-TIME year. I plan to go longer than a year, but that doesn't change what the challenge is about. Basically, you turn off aging and play one sim-day per real life day. Then, you post one (or more) pictures of the day, creating a picture album that lasts the sim's whole life. This challenge is less about getting an heir or meeting goals and more about getting to know one sim.. and, in my opinion, about being able to stick to a schedule and go "the distance". Before I even planned to actually play the challenge, I had a sim and background story in my head. I sat down almost immediately and created some sims. Jazmyn's story has changed a bit from when I first thought of it, but they are going to be a lot of fun to get to know as they grow. And yes, you read that right. Jaz is non-binary. You (and me) will find out more as Jaz's story unfolds. The challenge asks for you to start as a teenager, but it was important to my background story to start as a Child-sim, so I am. I am also going to change the age-up length from three months to four. Both of these will make the challenge significantly longer, but that's ok.

I will post a warning, however: this story WILL have triggering posts in it, and I do try to post a warning on the toughest posts, but I don't always remember to, so be warned.

As of 9/25/2022: This story is still among my top priorities, although I will definitely say it has grown way beyond the bounds of the original challenge started. For that reason, (and because the name "OneSim" was just.. dumb) I am hereby renaming this story "Adventures With Jaz".

Game Setup/Rule Changes/Mods In Use:

EDIT: I am no longer following the rules to the above-linked challenge, although I will leave it there as the base inspiration for this challenge. I will post my list of "rules" below, and hopefully - keep it updated as I play this challenge.

Being that they are starting as a child, they are obviously still with their parents, so I didn't limit the value of the house they were moving into. Jaz will have a very limited (possibly nothing) amount of funds when they ultimately move out, however. I didn't build the family home, but I did renovate it (it's an EA build) to meet my challenge and story needs. As you can see from the chart below, we will be starting in Magnolia Promenade and moving each month of Jaz's life to a new world.

I will be using MCCC for this challenge, because I want the world to feel alive around my sim and her family. I will not be turning on bigger families, but things like child support, adoption from dissolved families, and risky woohoo will be on. I will have the notifications on for family members so I can always know what's going on in the extended family. I have also added a several other mods for realism - an LGBTQIA+ mod, Wonderful Whims, as well as some smaller ones. I will also be adding the PreTeen mod as of 2/18/23.

As an additional goal, I will be trying to finish all aspirations once, and max all skills.

The following list is my current rules: (Updated 2/18/23)

• My Sim will begin as a Child.
• I am still following the "original" "real life" Calendar as if I hadn't stopped posting in 2021. Posting will be approximately once or twice a week, with my ultimate goal of trying to get through one week for Jaz per one REAL life month... but it may turn out to be more like one week for her for 6 weeks for us.
• Aging on for non-played sims, off for all played sims - I will age up with MCCC. Aging is as follows: 20 days for pregnancy (with "aging" on), 10 days for babies, 30 days for infants, and 50 days for toddlers, then 5 months each for child, 2 months for pre-teen, 4 months for teen, 6 months for YA and Adult, and 5 months for Elder. <-- This has CHANGED, so be aware! (All sims that are related to the story are being MANUALLY aged up by me.)
• My Sim may marry and have children. Aging up children is done following the above information.
• Any aspirations released with a world will be the priority aspiration(s) to be fulfilled first (I have listed these and any skills associated with them on the graphic for the month in question). Base game aspirations (any of the ones listed separately) and skills will be completed as I can throughout the challenge. Aspiration hopping is allowed.
• No restrictions on travel! (I travel so rarely in game that I would like to try to start getting used to taking my sims outside of their houses more often.) I did, however, install a Bus mod, so that they do have a small fee for traveling around the world.
• Any Satisfaction points earned may be used to buy and use any reward traits and potions. Exception: The Money Tree seed is off limits.
• I will start in Summer with each season being 14 days. Lunar cycle is set to 16 days.
• May participate in all Holidays, as well as create my own per seasons with the notable exception of not being allowed to purchase Lottery Tickets.
• Occult states may be removed after they have left the world where those aspirations were fulfilled.
• Will be playing with Autonomy ON to allow sims to do what they want to, and I WILL be using the Whim system.
• NO CHEATs will be used - that means no extra money, no need fixing, nothing. Exception: move objects. If they run out of money, and can't pay the bills, well I just have more to tell in the story. If a toddler gets taken away through normal game play (i.e. not through sims bugs), that toddler is gone. However, I will say there are times I will be using MCCC for actions that the sims game doesn't allow at this time. I'm not going to give away what those actions are, but there are definitely things I will need MCCC for.
