"I know, I know, the last thing I need is a new challenge. But this one I want to write a story about. I'm really bad at it, but I want to give it a try anyway, because I found this challenge and it really sparked my imagination for a change." …That’s all I wrote about this challenge before I was drawn right into playing it, and apparently I never got back to finishing an appropriate introduction. So here we go:
This, at its heart, is a dark story about a man who has lost everything more than once, and is trying to find his way in the world through all the hardships. But, then, what Vampire story isn’t dark, right? I will say there may be triggers in this story, so read at your own risk. I do try to note which chapters have them, though.

Strict Equality: The founder may be of either gender. However, only children of the opposite gender to the founder are eligible to be named heir. This repeats itself for the next generation (the next heir must be a different gender than the previous heir) so that each generation will have alternating-genders as heirs.
Strict Traditional : To be eligible to be named heir, a child must be naturally born from their previous-generation parents and be able to trace an unbroken bloodline back to the founder. Adopted children may never be named heir.
First Born: The oldest, by order of joining the family, eligible living child is named heir.
Heir MUST be human
Rule adaptations: My only rule-breaking to start with is the fact that I have it set to "long" aging, which is technically not allowed. But since I'm all about the story this time, not the challenge, I figured I would at least give long aging a try for a change.
I am a 45 year old American wife, mother, and gamer. I’ve lived in the Midwest most of my life, and enjoy it for the changing seasons. My favorite movie is Labyrinth, my favorite game is Sims 4, and I have tattoos related to both. My favorite colors are purple, red, and green. When I’m not playing games (which is rare) I also enjoy reading and crafting. I’m also an animal lover, and have had many types of pets over the years. Currently, I have a dog named Cassie who is a Jack Russel / Beagle mix and three young fancy rats (all of whom are rescues). I run this Sims 4 Blog where I post screenshots and stories about the different challenges I play. Also here are the Sims 4 challenges I've written, and a place for me to store all the Sims 4 knowledge I've gotten over the years. I am also a Sims 4/variety streamer on Twitch for my mental health, fun, and to meet new people. I have also recently been accepted to the EA Creator Network, which is a dream come true! I look forward to meeting you!
