Chapter 1.4 < | > Chapter 1.6

Week 4 Day 1, Micah McCloud’s Adventure Journal

Before I go any further, I need to finish introducing my wife, Rachael. She's Overemotional, Loves the Outdoors, a Virtuoso, Green Thumb, and a Computer Whiz. Her lifetime wish is to have a Perfect Garden. Her best friend is a man named Roger Whitehead. Being that one of the important things in building my island is finding more people to live here, she invited him over and tried to sell him on the idea. If his enthusiastic response means anything, he'll be a good addition to the island.

Roger learning to sculpt

He immediately decided his goal would be to build a second hand store on the island, and started learning to sculpt. Roger is a vegetarian, virtuoso, lucky, diva, angler, and wanted to be a vocal legend. (Turns out, he can't sing worth a lick, but his creative mind works out great for sculpting.)

With the new addition to the "family", a bigger hut and more furnishings were in order, so I spent the whole morning on that task.

Rachael's garden

The garden I started is now flourishing under Rachael's expert hand, and she's looking forward to the park she'll eventually set up on the Shores.

Fransisca and I chatting

After expanding the hut, I invited Fransisca over in the hopes of getting her on board with moving to the island as well. It seems she'd already had that idea in mind, and she had come with her luggage! She is flirty, a party animal, clumsy, childish, athletic, and a cat person. Her lifetime wish is to be a heartbreaker. One thing she's sure the island needs is  a bookstore, and she's always wanted to learn to write, so she plans to work on that while she's here (and brought her computer to that end.)

Fran and Roger?

Then, something happened none of us had planned. Fran met Roger.. and everyone could see the sparks fly.

Guess we don't need two twin beds!

Before the evening had even ended, they were talking marriage and retired to their room. Rachael and I giggled about it, then went back to working on our skills despite. We were grateful for the thatched roof over our heads when a thunderstorm decided to blow through just after dark.

Week 4 Day 2, Micah McCloud’s Adventure Journal

With all the new traffic in the house, things are likely to break.. and that's what happened when I tried washing the breakfast dishes this morning. Good thing I'm handy enough now to fix it in a jiffy! I then spent the rest of the morning upgrading the new stove and the washing machine. Rachael put up a clothes line out near the garden, and we all eagerly anticipated having clean clothes.

The first bills arrived late morning and I quickly wrote a check for Edith (the mail lady, remember?) to take back the the mainland with her.

I guess the thunderstorm never really went away, because it rained most of the day. Roger and Fran spent the day working on their new skills. I hoped Roger in particular wouldn't get sick from sculpting out in the rain, but he didn't seem to mind it!

Week 4 Day 3, Micah McCloud’s Adventure Journal

Today was one of those days with not much to write home about. All of us had stuff to do - Rachael worked in the garden then played chess, I worked out then tinkered around with the sink, trying to figure out why it broke yesterday. Roger sculpted, slowly getting better at it, and selling his pieces for more and more money. Fran worked on a book on her computer at the makeshift desk we made for her.

Furiously skilling...

Our first load of laundry was out on the line, drying on the one dry day we'd had in quite a while.

Week 4 Day 4, Micah McCloud’s Adventure Journal

Today was Fran's birthday, but most of us were too busy to hardly notice. That didn't dampen her spirits, however, and she finished her first book and started immediately on her second.

Screenshot-51

Yay!

For the rest of us, it was just another day of skilling.

Week 4 Day 5-6, Micah McCloud’s Adventure Journal

Another two days of skilling.

Rachael's allergies acted up while she was out in the garden, so she was all stuffed up for most of the day.

The second day, it rained quite a bit, again soaking poor Roger - whose sculptures were really starting to look amazing.

Week 4 Day 7, Micah McCloud’s Adventure Journal

Today was Roger's birthday, he turned into an elder, but didn't let that slow him down.

Sorry the end of the week was so boring, but at least there were a lot of skills improved!

Ooh, I didn't think about that option, inviting non-family into town, good idea.

It’s the only way to start populating the town in this challenge, so I expect to be doing it once per household or so. Everything has to be bought and paid for, venues, rabbitholes, and new houses. If you want more people, you have to move them in and pay for them to have a house. Makes for a nice challenge.🙂

I am a 45 year old American wife, mother, and gamer. I’ve lived in the Midwest most of my life, and enjoy it for the changing seasons. My favorite movie is Labyrinth, my favorite game is Sims 4, and I have tattoos related to both. My favorite colors are purple, red, and green. When I’m not playing games (which is rare) I also enjoy reading and crafting. I’m also an animal lover, and have had many types of pets over the years. Currently, I have a dog named Cassie who is a Jack Russel / Beagle mix and three young fancy rats (all of whom are rescues). I run this Sims 4 Blog where I post screenshots and stories about the different challenges I play. Also here are the Sims 4 challenges I've written, and a place for me to store all the Sims 4 knowledge I've gotten over the years. I am also a Sims 4/variety streamer on Twitch for my mental health, fun, and to meet new people. I have also recently been accepted to the EA Creator Network, which is a dream come true! I look forward to meeting you!
