Okay, so just as an introduction to this journal, I'll give my character's information, and then I'll dive into what we did on this, the first day of my 2023 Morrowind playthrough.
The character I settled on is a female Khajiit named Raktar-la. Raktar being a traditional female name, and the -la a suffix referring to a young, beautiful maiden. I made my own "Adventurer" class, specialized in the Stealth discipline, and favoring Agility and Personality. She was born under the "Lady" sign, and her Major skills are: Security, Marksmanship, Sneak, Light Armor, and Short Blade. Minor Skills include Speechcraft, Mercantile, Acrobatics, Athletics, and Illusion. As a character, she has no problem stealing things, but she tends to be an honorable thief. She won't steal from friends, guild members, or people she respects. She's good with her voice, and is almost always polite. Role-play-wise, Raktar-la will be heavy on the Charisma aspect, as well as anything involving Stealth.
As in all games of Morrowind, Raktar-la starts in Seyda Neen, fresh of the boat after having been released from prison. She is immediately charged with finding a man in Balmora (who turns out to be a leader in the Blades Guild) and delivering a package to him. Before heading there, however, we do some exploring around Seyda Neen, soaking in the atmosphere, meeting the locals, and doing a little bit of just exploring and killing mudcrabs. Initially, she gives Fargoth back his ring that the guards took, but eventually, she finds out that he's not really the guy she thought he was.. and she ends up stealing his ring back for him. Another town member speaks of wanting desperately to leave town, but having no money to do so, and Raktar-la obligingly buys his cursed ring for a hefty sum (at this point in the game, 100 is a LOT) so he can move on with his life. Finally, she also finds and avenges a local tax collector, bringing his ring back to his girlfriend.
After all of this, I figure it's time to head to Balmora. She takes the Silt Strider there, and immediately goes to find the contact who she's supposed to drop the package off to. In the meantime, she also finds and joins the Thieves' Guild, Mages' Guild, and Fighters' Guild. While doing that, she picks up several "jobs" for each guild, and eventually does manage to get the package to her contact, who recruits her into the Blades. After accepting the package, he mentions she should get some more experience and explore before he'll give her a task, so Raktar-la heads out into the city. The Thieves' Guild leader, Sugar Lips, wanted us to steal a diamond for her, so we get that done - despite almost getting arrested for it... and pick up the next quest. This quest, however, proves more difficult, and we end the session standing by the target we're supposed to pickpocket, but so far, she's been unsuccessful. Perhaps next time we'll try to get the key another way.
