1890s Week 5 | 1900s Week 1

Well, here we are, back with the Sheppards - who, currently, are not a story... but this post might be a bit different than most of my commentary posts. Because we definitely have some story here.

Mama Sheppard gets up early to feed her hungry brood, and I even remember to get her dressed for the day.

Not sure why Edith is so sad in this picture.. but it fits with the story in my head. She has been informed that she won't be continuing on in her education, and is not happy about it. She doesn't want to just be a housewife. (And I can't really blame her, there..)

Glenn helps Edith with her homework, while the rest of the family finishes up with breakfast.

Gertrude, who is destined to be a simple housewife, is learning to do all the adult chores in the house.

Time for Edith to learn knitting. Still sad, of course, but she gives it her best try.

Jesse and Glenn are working on school - Jesse is getting skills up so he can get a grade increase, while Glenn works on homework.

Later, Edith approaches her father about continuing to high school to follow her dreams. At first, he's reluctant, but Edith is insistent. Note how Gertrude is trying to act like she's not listening into this conversation.

Finally, Dad gives in, and Edith is destined for high school, as well.

That night, Edith wakes up to a monster under her bed... and immediately runs to her older sister, who's closest.

The loss of the dogs is still hard on the kids, and I find them out here much of the time.

Gertrude is - again - stuck doing laundry.

But, after overhearing Edith's conversation with their father, she's starting to wonder if a simple house-wife is all she wants to be.

Finishing her chores determinedly, she vows to try to get into high school, as well.

Gertrude is not as bold as her sister, however, so she approaches her mother, who she thinks might be more sympathetic to her plight.

Sure enough, Anna agrees to talk to James about getting Gertrude into school, and perhaps sending both girls off to finishing school.

Outside, I'm rudely reminded that it's HOT out there, as a townie causes Grim to visit.

Edith is clearly more at peace.... and enjoys learning her music to finish her aspiration.

Oh, dear.. Edith is definitely going to need a makeover.

A local teen walks by, and I start thinking about getting Glenn a girlfriend.

He's all about getting a girlfriend....

But apparently Jesse is the one who really likes the dark-haired neighborhood teen.

Edith post-makeover. GOD she's gorgeous!!

Glenn finally finds a girl of his own... and just around the corner...

Jesse finally gets his first kiss with Rachael Le Chien. Both girls then get a makeover... and all are ready for some BIG changes.

The blonde, by the way, is Glenn's wife-to-be, Edith Munch.

Now: for the plans in store for these guys. Glenn and blonde Edith will remain in the Sheppards save file, as will Jesse and Rachael for the purposes of being the spare heir. However, out adorable Edith.. and Gertrude.. are both headed to "finishing school" in the Tangles save. I have not 100% decided whether to simply remove them from the current save, or whether to add the extended family into the Tangles save along with them.. but I guess I still have a little bit of time to figure that out.

I am a 45 year old American wife, mother, and gamer. I’ve lived in the Midwest most of my life, and enjoy it for the changing seasons. My favorite movie is Labyrinth, my favorite game is Sims 4, and I have tattoos related to both. My favorite colors are purple, red, and green. When I’m not playing games (which is rare) I also enjoy reading and crafting. I’m also an animal lover, and have had many types of pets over the years. Currently, I have a dog named Cassie who is a Jack Russel / Beagle mix and three young fancy rats (all of whom are rescues). I run this Sims 4 Blog where I post screenshots and stories about the different challenges I play. Also here are the Sims 4 challenges I've written, and a place for me to store all the Sims 4 knowledge I've gotten over the years. I am also a Sims 4/variety streamer on Twitch for my mental health, fun, and to meet new people. I have also recently been accepted to the EA Creator Network, which is a dream come true! I look forward to meeting you!
