Current Game #23 - Potion Craft

... And now for something completely different. At first glance, this looks like just another mini game you might find on your phone. Let me tell you, if that's what it is, it definitely got an upgrade. When I first found this game, I over-looked it. Then one of my favorite Twitch streamers played it, and I had to take notice, because it really looked like a lot of fun. So, I bought the game. And almost instantly it joined the ranks of my favorite games. Despite the fact that I've played this game less than any of the other current favorites, I know a good one when I see it. I decided early on that maybe I should save this game until I get to play it on stream for everyone to enjoy... and I still think that was the right choice. Really looking forward to jumping into this one tomorrow!

Game Info:

Potion Craft, as it sounds, is an alchemist simulator game. It is, indeed, a bit of a mini-game, but it's been expanded and fleshed out until it's a full game on it's own. It was developed by Niceplay Games, and released to early access in September 2021, so this is very much a new game on the market. It's designed in a way that it plays very much like an open-ended sandbox game, and you get to figure out your own path to get to the goals. The best part, however, is the satisfying way you get to interact with the ingredients, and then sell them to the townspeople who frequent your shop.

As for reviews, the game has been solidly among the "Very Positive" games on Steam since it first launched, and I completely agree with that. It's not out on Mac as of yet, but being that the game is still in development, I wouldn't say that is the end of the story.

My Editorial:

While writing this up, I was actually genuinely surprised that this game was still an early access title. It doesn't seem like a game that is still in active development, and even if they never add anything else to it (which is not going to be the case, I am quite sure) - I will still count this game among my current favorite games. The art style, the way you make the potions, and the fun of finding new things all the time really just pulls me into the game. I hope you all feel the same way!

Stay Tuned for afterthoughts!*

*(coming next week when I publish the VODs from this week's playthroughs on Youtube)

I am a 45 year old American wife, mother, and gamer. I’ve lived in the Midwest most of my life, and enjoy it for the changing seasons. My favorite movie is Labyrinth, my favorite game is Sims 4, and I have tattoos related to both. My favorite colors are purple, red, and green. When I’m not playing games (which is rare) I also enjoy reading and crafting. I’m also an animal lover, and have had many types of pets over the years. Currently, I have a dog named Cassie who is a Jack Russel / Beagle mix and three young fancy rats (all of whom are rescues). I run this Sims 4 Blog where I post screenshots and stories about the different challenges I play. Also here are the Sims 4 challenges I've written, and a place for me to store all the Sims 4 knowledge I've gotten over the years. I am also a Sims 4/variety streamer on Twitch for my mental health, fun, and to meet new people. I have also recently been accepted to the EA Creator Network, which is a dream come true! I look forward to meeting you!
