Two Shell Challenges!

So, I had a concept for a shell challenge come to me one night while trying to sleep, and I planned on doing it as my next shell challenge, but later, it occurred to me that not everyone is going to want to try it (because it is rather evil). So I made a second shell challenge that is just your "standard" monthly shell challenge. Posting both here (and on the sims forums) with rules and pictures of the shells in question. Hope to see some good submissions!

Thrall Shell Challenge 1 (#thrallshell1)

Full Rules:

  • Foundations ok
  • Terrain work ok
  • Adding platforms ok - but NO removing or changing height on the platforms in the initial shell!
  • Add roofing, windows, stairs or ladders, and an interior floorplan.
  • Leave my outside walls alone, but adding fences or half walls and balconies or porches to the shell is ok.
  • Adding additional buildings NOT connected to shell ok, but don't add any full walls connected to the existing shell.
  • Basements are allowed.
  • Feel free to use a different lot, or move the entire shell wherever you want on a lot. (Do not change the orientation of the two floors in relation to each other, though.)
  • NO CC, budget, or pack restrictions.
  • Feel free to use debug or live edit objects as well!

Due before tours Sunday January 31st at 4PM EST on my twitch channel (IllusoryThrall). Also, if you have any questions, feel free to comment on this page, or on the sims forums in the topic I made for my shell challenges (here).

One of Each Shell Challenge (#oneofeachshell)

An advanced shell challenge. Standard shell rules with a major twist: you can only use each item ONCE. That means any item - column, window, door, chair, toilet, etc. Whether you then go for a color explosion or actually try to make a cohesive, matching house is up to you.

Full Rules:

  • Foundations ok
  • Terrain work ok
  • Adding platforms ok
  • And the kicker rule mentioned above: only ONE of each build or buy mode item can be on the lot. This includes landscaping items!
  • Addition: Wall paint and fences can be used on each wall side separately (so a whole wall, but not a whole room), roof patterns and trim (color) can only be used on one roof, each other instances needs a different color/pattern. As for floors, I tried to use each pattern/color in areas of four tiles or less. You get the idea.

Due February 13th by 4PM when I will stream tours on my twitch (IllusoryThrall). Giving extra time for this one, because it's not going to be an easy challenge. Enjoy! Post with the tag #oneofeachshell Also, if you have any questions, feel free to comment on this page, or on the sims forums in the topic I made for my shell challenges (here).

I'm interested! For the one of each, does that include wallpaper? or are we allowed to at least match a room with that. i mean, i'm 100% fine with not, i just want to make sure i understand!

Oh my gosh, thanks! You totally reminded me I added a rule to cover this question to my post on the forums, but I completely forgot to add it in here. The rules above should cover it, now. Basically, each wall can be painted with the pattern/color you choose for that wall. The next wall needs a different one. So, if your wall turns, you switch wallpapers/paints. I also clarify what to do with roof patterns and fences and floors. I've been working on doing the challenge, myself. It's silly, but it's fun!

Thank you! I'll reread the rules and get started on this in the next day or two!

I am a 45 year old American wife, mother, and gamer. I’ve lived in the Midwest most of my life, and enjoy it for the changing seasons. My favorite movie is Labyrinth, my favorite game is Sims 4, and I have tattoos related to both. My favorite colors are purple, red, and green. When I’m not playing games (which is rare) I also enjoy reading and crafting. I’m also an animal lover, and have had many types of pets over the years. Currently, I have a dog named Cassie who is a Jack Russel / Beagle mix and three young fancy rats (all of whom are rescues). I run this Sims 4 Blog where I post screenshots and stories about the different challenges I play. Also here are the Sims 4 challenges I've written, and a place for me to store all the Sims 4 knowledge I've gotten over the years. I am also a Sims 4/variety streamer on Twitch for my mental health, fun, and to meet new people. I have also recently been accepted to the EA Creator Network, which is a dream come true! I look forward to meeting you!
